Application of Guar Gum in the Construction Industry

There are mainly 2 kinds guar gum used in the construction industry:

●Water-based Paint Guar Gum

This product is a non-ionic polysaccharide polymer obtained by chemical modification of natural guar gum. After chemical treatment,

the hydration time is delayed and the dispersibility is improved, which serves as a thickener and water retainer in water-based paint.

Its unique molecular structure gives it good thermal stability, anti-mild, high alkaline resistance, anti-sagging, and brushing properties.

●Putty Mortar Guar Gum

This product is a non-ionic polysacchar polymer obtained by chemical modification of natural guar gum, specifically used in gypsum-based, 

cement-based putties, and mortars. The dosage is 0.05-0.1%, serving as a thickener and water retainer. It has good thixotropy, anti-sagging, 

and can significantly improve construction performance.

Since guar gum is a natural product, it is more environmentally friendly than some traditional synthetic thickeners and is more suitable for the needs of modern green buildings.
